What Customers Say About Dead Space:

It's also really cool to have a sci-fi/survival horror game as well. This game is fairly short but it is great. You can play the game through again ater you beat it with all the stuff you had the first play through and further upgrade your weapons/armor and modules. There are some really cool things that make this game stand out with originality, such as Zero Gravity in certain parts, different weapons than the typical games, upgrading your weapons done in a new way, and the dismembering WOW. This game has fantastic graphics, entertaining, fun, interesting, yet challenging all around. By the way if you watched dead space downfall don't worry the game IS actually good and the characters do not look goofy like they did in the cartoon. As a last comment, the technology within the game is so freakin cool, seriously check this game out (IF YOU ARE OLD ENOUGH, DO NOT LET CHILDREN PLAY THIS OR EVEN WATCH THIS BEING PLAYED, IT IS BRUTAL)

Maps and menus pop out of the character's suite so you dont have to pause to check your status of location. I am a Resident Evil fan, but this game is really way better. Its fresh and new. Upgrades are amazing and well worth a replay because you can carry replay at a different difficulty once you finish the game with all your upgrades and armor. Definitely among my top 6 games.

The survival horror aspect comes in how you manage your items. Unfortunately for everyone involved, the rescue team finds that most of the Ishimura's crew has been killed or, worse yet, transformed into hideous monsters with an unquenchable thirst for violence.Due to the nature of the creatures on board, bullets are unable to deal much damage. Dead Space puts you in the shoes of engineer Isaac Clarke, sent to the mining ship Ishimura, to help repair the ship and return the crew home. Power Nodes lying around are fairly uncommon, but can be bought from the stores scattered throughout the ship. Isaac must instead rely on the various cutting tools he finds on board to dismember his enemies. The game features many weapons for you to use, including a plasma rifle that acts more like a traditional machine gun, and allows you to upgrade them as you see fit using the various Power Nodes you find throughout the game. This means you can sacrifice supplies such as ammo and health in order to buy more nodes and upgrade your suit and weapons. The game does an excellent job with its atmosphere. The music and sound mesh well to make you careful of how you move through the corridors, and the monsters' own abilities make you wary of every corpse you find as they can be quickly turned into a powerful monster for you to kill if not dealt with.Dead Space is a lot of fun and fans of action or horror games will find something here to like.

Just beat this game last night and loved every minute of it. The game has a great atmosphere and its great to take a break from all of the first person shooters that are out to play this great game.

Detail in the environments was well done, and there is creepy phrases written on the walls in blood.eery indeed.Controls are very intuitive, L1 to aim, R1 to shoot, and you can see with a laser where you will fire. It is strange, you can be wandering around the room, and someone else is talking to you, but they dont feel "real." A few cutscenes would have been much better, as opposed to just listening to human figures talking. Also, throughout the game I had a desire to help survivors, but you could never really help. You can upgrade your weapons and suit, and buy ammo and other items.Stasis is another fun element to combat- basically you slow down time/enemies for a few seconds, very handy in ambush situations. The enemies move through the vents, which you see in 90% of the rooms, so what I ended up doing was being afraid of every vent in the wall/ceiling I saw, knowing that that is where enemies may pop out from. In some rooms, you will hear items crashing around, or hear strange monstrous growls, or crazy human laughter (or screams) but sometimes there will be no enemies in the room at all.

You never really know when something will come out and attack you. They had good guns though, each was good for a different situation. The whole atmosphere is frightening. Perfect.

Another feature is kinesis- you can grab items from across the room and bring them to you. And I believe 1 supporting character just disappeared without a word.Second, you can only hold 4 guns. Of course sometimes enemies would pop out at you fast when you enter a room or come out of the elevator, but this wasnt done much. You can hit the square button to automatically replenish your health (starting with the smallest container from your inventory) which is very helpful so you dont have to mess around your inventory (which is real time. Refreshing); etc.

This game is incredibly scary, from the beginning to the final scene. My major gripe with this game is utter lack of characterization/human interaction. I don't think your character says 1 word, even though others are talking to him (On the video link or in the same room). I suppose it adds to the scary, being all alone feeling, but if I could have saved just 1 I would have been satisfied. You can also pick up audio logs and text logs and continue walking around while listening to them. I took away a star because of lack of characterization (My character did not feel human), the gun restriction (can only have 4), and bosses weren't that dificult. Also, items will sometimes roll on the floor, or be floating around (especially limbs.)., or you will see shadows moving, and even monsters running under the vents.but no enemies may be around to attack (at that moment).

The puzzles were not hard either, you just had to be observant and look for things to move or shoot, which is great for me, cause I am bad at puzzles. Meaning, if you are browsing through your stuff, enemies can still attack you). You can also store extra items in a safe at every store section, a great way to hold onto every item instead of constantly worrying about making room. (Flamethrower for little crawly things trying to jump on you that are hard to aim at with a standard gun; or a saw that shoots out and cuts off limbs (because this game is about cutting off the limbs, not headshots. But this game is definitely a must buy for any one who likes 3rd person shooters.
